Kupe Leadership Development Programme
The Kupe Leadership Programme is a transformational experience that brings together a multi-disciplinary cohort of passionate, future focused postgrads for an intensive year of exploration and growth. The programme begins late February with a four day immersive residential orientation followed by four distinct leadership workshops, interspersed with leadership speaker events throughout the year.
The structured framework offers an exceptional leadership development approach that not only builds scholars' leadership capabilities such as resilience, adaptability and reflexivity, but also anchors these competencies within a uniquely Aotearoa New Zealand context.
Over the course of the year, the Kupe Leadership Programme enables scholars' to draw on a wealth of collective leadership expertise – from mentors, facilitators, fellow scholars', and guest speakers who are leaders and professionals with diverse experience across the public, private and not-for-profit sectors. These unique learning opportunities combine with the programme’s experiential format, including live case studies and practical exercises, to ensure scholars complete their Kupe year empowered to make a meaningful impact in their field, communities and beyond.
The programme concludes in late October with the final workshop and then a celebration dinner with mentors, donors, alumni and supporters. Scholars' go on to join our thriving alumni community with ongoing opportunities to develop their skills, competencies and connections.
