Bachelor of Science (Honours) Statistics

My interest sits at the intersection of statistics and finance, and how quantitative thinking can shape better investment decisions. Studying both has shown me that capital does not always follow evidence or long term value. As a result, strong research and early innovation can struggle to secure sustained funding, particularly in areas like women’s health. Often the challenge is not the quality of the science, but the cost, complexity, and uncertainty involved in bringing it to market.

I am interested in the role that quantitative analysis, and the development of new AI tools, can play in closing that gap. More advanced data techniques can reduce costs, improve forecasting, and therefore make the commercial potential clearer to investors. This has led me to think more broadly about patterns of private investment and how incentives, information and perception shape capital allocation. Ultimately, I want to use these tools to direct capital more intentionally and to back strong opportunities built for long term impact.
