Master of Clinical Exercise Physiology
As an aspiring Clinical Exercise Physiologist, I am passionate about using exercise as a powerful tool for preventing and managing chronic disease. New Zealand’s healthcare system faces increasing pressure from chronic conditions like cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and obesity—many of which are preventable through lifestyle interventions. Despite its effectiveness, Clinical Exercise Physiology remains underutilized in allied healthcare. I hope to be a leader in integrating Clinical Exercise Physiology into mainstream healthcare, bridging the gap between fitness and healthcare to improve long-term health outcomes and reduce hospital admissions caused by preventable diseases.
In addition to my clinical aspirations, I hope to contribute to research on the applications of Clinical Exercise Physiology for women affected by chronic disease. Women remain underrepresented in studies on exercise and chronic disease management, leading to gaps in knowledge that impact clinical recommendations. Through both research and practice, I hope to drive meaningful change—ensuring that evidence-based exercise rehabilitation is accessible and inclusive to all.
