Rhieve Grey | Heartland Kupe Leadership Scholar

Rhieve (Ngāti Tūwharetoa, Ngāti Porou, Ngāti Raukawa)

Bachelor of Science (Honours) (Psychology)

From a very young age I have always been devoted to helping people. This has been something that has guided me to where I am now. I believe hugely in the power of helping through education and a deep understanding of people. It makes sense then that my passions lie in academia and particularly in the field of psychology.

This passion for people is also informed by my Māori whakapapa, of which I am immensely proud. Specifically, being Māori has taught me the value of including many diverse perspectives in learning about how we make sense of the world and then deal with the challenges we face within that world.

Bringing with me this understanding, my goal is help deal with the major global issues of today by using a critical lens and enabling people to act through education.
