Dean's Leadership Award
Following the recent launch of two postgraduate programmes, the PhD Leadership Development Programme and Kupe Leadership Scholarship, we are maintaining our focus on developing student leadership. Thanks to the support of Professor Jayne Godfrey, Dean of the Business School at the University of Auckland, we have now selected 24 undergraduate students studying commerce or property to receive a prestigious Dean's Leadership Award.
With the current uncertainty around the future of work and increasing competition for jobs, graduates are needing to equip themselves with a broader and more agile skillset. The Dean’s Leadership Award provides a full scholarship for an engaging and challenging leadership development programme that consists of a series of fortnightly workshops throughout 2019.
Offered to undergraduate Business School students entering the penultimate or final year of study, the Award offers students the opportunity to build their understanding and practice of leadership to help prepare them for graduate employment.
Students will be exposed to cutting-edge leadership theory, develop essential interpersonal and team skills, and have opportunities to hone their leadership practice.
The programme also involves working with peers, academics, mentors, industry stakeholders, and Business School alumni to engage with real-world leadership issues currently facing New Zealand businesses.
The 2019 programme commences in March 2019. Further information regarding applications for the 2020 programme will be available in Semester 2.
